Mr. Cordova
Mr. Cordova graduated from Texas State University - San Marcos, Tx in Fall 2014 and has been teaching since Spring of 2015. He graduated from Eagle Pass High School where his passion for mariachi music began. From Texas State University he received a Bachelors of Music in Music Education with an emphasis in Strings and a Latin Studies minor. While attending Texas State University he was under the tutelage of Mrs. Paula Bird.
After graduation he married his loving wife and moved to Houston, Tx to start his teaching career. His first teaching experience was at James B. Havard Elementary School in Galena Park ISD. He taught at Havard Elementary from the Spring of 2015 to the Spring of 2018. While at Havard Elementary, he was trained and certified in the Kodaly Methodology under the directions of Dr. Philip Tacka and Dr. Micheal Houlahan. While teaching the Kodaly method, his students were able to have a very high understanding of tuneful singing, listening, memory, inner hearing, writing/dictation, reading/sight-reading, part-work, improvisation, composition, conducting, and part-work. In the Fall of 2018, Mr. Cordova began teaching at Conroe High School. He enjoys being a part of the Conroe community and teaching the wonderful students of Conroe High School Orchestra and Mariachi!
